The polycentric EBSpro knee joint represents an innovation in the field of mechanical prosthetic knee joints: In addition to hydraulic swing phase control, the EBSpro from Otto Bock is also equipped with progressively dampened hydraulic stance phase control. This results in controlled, natural stance phase flexion and extension that automatically adapts to the changing requirements of everyday life.
The EBSpro emulates the biomechanics of the human knee; its patented technology offers the wearer a high level of safety and comfort. With a weight of only 740 g, compact joint dimensions, and a very large flexion angle of 175°, the knee joint is particularly suitable for smaller, lighter users. Four different connection options permit fittings for patients with different amputation levels ranging from knee disarticulation to hip disarticulation. For the first time, it is also possible to adapt the alignment of the prosthesis by means of an adjustment pyramid that can be shifted in A/P direction. According to MOBIS®, the new EBSpro knee joint is recommended for amputees with a body weight of up to 75 kg and for mobility grades 2 and 3.
