The Supertrans is an innovative power wheelchair that combines the properties of a fully functional outdoor and a manoeuvrable indoor wheelchair. Using the microprocessor control unit, the user can change the wheelchair from outdoor to indoor operation within a matter of seconds. The hassle of changing wheelchairs is therefore eliminated.
With the Supertrans, you can systematically cover the entire fitting spectrum. The modular concept of chassis, seating system, and control unit allows for customized combinations of the individual elements. Thus you can assemble the Supertrans according to the requirements of specific clinical pictures and the personal wishes of your customer. All components of the Supertrans are easily accessible and clearly arranged, which optimizes ease of service.
Bumps, curbs, or soft surfaces are no problem for the Supertrans. The two rear wheels are independently driven by separate motors during outdoor operation, while the front wheels are controlled via servo steering. Thus spinning of the rear wheels and unwanted movement of the front wheels is prevented even under high loads. Directional stability is ensured, even under extreme conditions. For indoor use, an additional pair of wheels can be lowered electronically to replace the two front wheels. At the same time, the rear wheels switch to counter-rotating drive which allows the Supertrans to turn almost on the spot. Therefore the Supertrans user can independently enter interior areas without having to rely on anyone else’s help.
Multiple options such as a lying and standing device, lift seat, and extra and special controls round out the fitting program – for necessary medical functions and the independence of the user. The standard wheelchair achieves a maximum speed of six km/h; a speed of ten km/h is also available as an option. High-performance motors and the 75 Ah wet cell batteries ensure a large range, even with sophisticated special and additional fittings. When you tip the chassis made of high-strength, light plastic, you can maintain the battery in just a few easy steps.
The maximum allowable load is 120 to 150 kilograms depending on the version; for specialized models, it is up to 260 kilograms. This makes the Supertrans a universal wheelchair, since you can also install additional fittings such as suction or respirator equipment easily.
