Selection Tool

The selection tool helps you find the right buggies. Different aspects need to be considered depending on whether you travel a lot with your child or place great emphasis on positioning.

Reha-Buggies

Compared with normal buggies, rehab buggies are notable for increased stability, a greater variety of adjustment possibilities and accessories for correct positioning for longer sitting in the buggy. These possibilities make it more convenient for both the child and the attendant. Furthermore, rehab buggies can grow with the child and also adapt to a clinical picture that may be later modified.
When selecting a suitable rehab buggy, there are two decisive factors: the degree of disability and the resulting requirements for optimal support, and the desired field of application (indoor/outdoor use, long/short distances, even/uneven surfaces).

With a buggy for mainly "positioning" purposes, the following features are most important:

  • Individual adaptability by means of seat depth, seat width and back height adjustment
  • Support options such as adjustable trunk pads or the possibility to attach accessory components (e.g. for head or trunk control)
  • Different adjustment possibilities that allow for altering positioning and sitting posture, such as back angle adjustment, seat tilt, angle and height adjustable footrest
  • High stability
  • Possibility for replacing the padding with a special seating shell
  • Comfortable padding

If the buggy is to be used mainly for transport purposes, including frequent transfer of the child and folding of the buggy, the following features are most important:

  •  Easy operation and good maneuverability
  • Low weight
  • Easy-folding, compact folding size
  • Folding padding or padding with accessories can be removed completely and easily
  • Easy transfer of the child

Field of application:

If the buggy is intended mainly for outdoor use, i.e. on uneven ground, it should have large wheels, rigidly mounted or with swivel lock for straight forward movement, with spring-mounted pneumatic tires, in order to be as easy-running and easy-to-push as possible.
If it is intended mainly for indoor use or for use on even, asphalted streets, small casters of solid rubber offer good maneuverability and high pushing comfort.
