For most affected persons, rheumatism means one thing in particular: tearing pain in the hands, knees, arms and joints. Effective rheumatism relief is provided by specifically developed bandages.

Rheumatism is not an illness with uniform symptoms, and is also not a diagnosis in the narrower sense. It rather refers to general problems of the locomotor apparatus, often accompanied by pain and restricted mobility. Rheumatism is often an umbrella term for approximately 400 different illnesses which have one thing in common: chronic inflammations through disturbances in the immune system. Rheumatism can affect the joints, bones, tendons, muscles, connective tissues or even the internal organs.
The most frequently occurring forms are age related arthrosis due to cartilage wear and rheumatoid arthritis or polyarthritis, which is caused by joint inflammation. The joints of rheumatism patients are stiff and swollen; everyday mobility decreases continuously. In the advanced stage of the illness, even everyday tasks become difficult. Effective relief for rheumatism is provided by specifically developed bandages such as the Manu Rheuma Flex. They stabilise and support the wrist and allow patients greater mobility in everyday life.
According to the Robert Koch Institute, approximately two percent of adults in Germany now suffer from rheumatism. However children and adolescents are also affected.
