Fully enjoying life – casually walking down aisles at the store, cycling with friends in the park, or maybe going hiking in the mountains. With the C-Leg, everyday activity is possible once again. The world's first microprocessor-controlled knee joint is controlled in real time throughout the entire gait cycle. This means the highest level of dynamic response with unsurpassed safety.
By now, over 20,000 C-Leg wearers all over the world are profiting from the many advantages of proven C-Leg Technology. Their suggestions were the driving force behind the introduction of several new features in 2006. The result: An intelligent leg prosthesis system with Wireless Remote Control and an optimized service and warranty plan.
The new C-Leg is easy to recognize. While the previous C-Leg was gleaming silver and blue, the carbon frame of the new C-Leg is noble anthracite, complemented with silver. The new C-Leg has a harmonious interplay of form, color, and material for a self-confident appearance in every situation.
Of course the new C-Leg also uses the original, proven C-Leg Technology. The intelligent knee joint always recognizes which walking phase the user is in and adjusts accordingly in real time. The knee angle sensor supplies the information required for the dynamic control of the swing phase, depending on the respective step length and frequency.
Walking down stairs, in the dark, in a crowd while shopping, during a leisurely Sunday stroll, or in a rush on the way to work in the morning - the C-Leg system automatically adapts to any situation while you walk. The advantages: The risk of falling is significantly reduced. You no longer need to focus on every step; you save energy and can focus on the important things in life once again. With the C-Leg, you move safely and smoothly – you'll hardly notice the difference compared to normal walking, and neither will anyone else. The physiological gait pattern simultaneously provides relief for your entire body. You can adjust the C-Leg for special activities such as cross-country skiing or cycling with a special mode (2nd mode).

More everyday mobility and independence – those were the development goals for the new C-Leg. You can quickly and unobtrusively switch between 1st and 2nd mode using the wireless remote control, for example when cycling. A standing mode that can be selectively activated provides additional safety and comfort. It stabilizes the C-Leg at any angle of flexion you want – without requiring you to expend additional muscle power.
Another new feature is the individual adjustment of the swing phase. After the initial adjustment of your C-Leg by a certified prosthetist, you can now adjust the movement resistance according to your wishes using the wireless remote control. This saves time but does not compromise the proven level of safety.
Safety at every step – this is what the optimized service and warranty concept of the new C-Leg stands for. You can select between the standard three-year warranty and the expanded five-year warranty. Also, the new C-Leg only has to be sent in for a service check every two years. For the previous version of the C-Leg, the twelve-month interval continues to apply. You can find additional information about our service and the mobility warranty here.

We developed the C-Leg especially for the requirements of active prosthesis wearers. According to the Otto Bock Mobis® mobility system, it is suitable for knee disarticulation, transfemoral, hip disarticulation, and pelvic disarticulation amputees with mobility levels 3 and 4. The maximum allowable body weight is 125 kilograms.
The C-Leg is part of the Product Line which also includes the C-Leg compact, which is especially designed for the safety requirements of transfemoral amputees in the lower and middle mobility levels 2 and 3. A list of indications supports you in the selection of the correct C-Leg system. It can only be supplied by a certified prosthetist. You will find more information on the certification process here.

Our list of indications is the basis for fitting a C-Leg. It helps your treating physician to decide from which knee joint system you can profit the most. The actual fitting is carried out by a prosthetist certified by Otto Bock. He or she prepares a cost estimate of the leg prosthesis system based on the prescription from the treating physician and submits it to the sponsor.
In principle, every amputee is entitled to an adequate fitting according to the latest state-of-the-art technology. However, many economic factors also play a role. The decision to finance the C-Leg depends on individual circumstances. In your application, it is important for you to show what possibilities and advantages the high-quality prosthesis would offer you.
Any prosthetist certified by Otto Bock can supply you with the C-Leg under his or her own responsibility. He or she will adjust the C-Leg according to your personal wishes and requirements in regards to security, dynamics, and residual limb activity. You also select the other components of your system in conjunction with your prosthetist so that it becomes a solution that fits you and your lifestyle. The C-Leg system includes prosthetic foot, hydraulic microprocessor-controlled knee joint, structural components, cosmesis as well as accessories.
A test fitting is possible for many certified orthopaedic technicians. It takes place over a predetermined period of time and is monitored by Otto Bock. Please contact your prosthetist so he or she can make an appointment with us.

You are active and design conscious. You don't just expect functionality from your C-Leg protective cover, but good looks, too. In that case, you should take a closer look at the C-Leg Protector.
The C-Leg Protector combines design and safety in an unusual way. The transparent cover encases the knee joint and the tube adapter – the shape and color of the C-Leg remains visible. A special coating protects the high-quality prosthesis system against impacts and scratches – even if you like to do more demanding activities in addition to your everyday use. The functionality of your C-Leg is not restricted by the Protector.
Especially convenient: Your orthopaedic technician can quickly adapt the C-Leg Protector for your system. You can put the C-Leg Protector on and take if off whenever you want and can clean it easily during everyday use. It is available in blue, maroon, or dolphin, so you can find a color that meets your style.
If you travel a lot and place great value on independence, then your C-Leg should not be without the 12 volt charger cable. Combined with the battery charger, you can charge the lithium-ion battery when you are on the road using a conventional 12 volt connection such as the car cigarette lighter.
If a foam cover makes connecting the charger cable to your C-Leg difficult, then you can make the battery charging process easier with a charger cable extension and plug bracket. The plug bracket is installed above the prosthesis foot at the end of the tube adapter.
