Our hyperextension orthosis supports healing of fractures in the area of the lower thoracic spine and lumbar spine. These fractures are usually the result of contusions and compression, mainly in car accidents or during sports. The Hyperextension Orthosis in Frame Construction 28R16 has been used successfully in therapy for years. It is also used in case of vertebral body fractures due to osteoporosis.

Simple and effective

The way the orthosis works is simple and effective: Pressure pads along the lumbar spine, the sternum, and the pubic bone straighten and stabilize your spine. This special three point system relieves the anterior spinal vertebrae and simultaneously stabilizes your spinal column. Your pain is relieved. Due to the frame construction, sideways movement and rotation of the upper body are limited.

Your doctor will establish a suitable therapy plan for you. Your orthopaedic technician will adjust the orthosis for you. He or she will first take your body measurements and select a modular kit of the corresponding size. The orthosis is adjusted while you are lying down, and then the pressure, placement, and fit of the three pressure pads and the correct positioning of the hyperextension orthosis are verified once more.

Easy to clean

The hyperextension orthosis 28R16 is water-resistant, allowing you to shower or bathe without problems. The orthosis can be cleaned with a damp piece of cloth and neutral soap. It can be individually adapted in circumference and height.

If possible, you put the orthosis on while lying down. Thanks to the simple closure, you can put the orthosis on and take it off without problems. Ensure that the orthosis always hugs your body closely. Your doctor or orthopaedic technician will explain to you at the first trial fitting how you should handle your new hyperextension orthosis.
