The WalkOn® dorsiflexion-assist orthosis is designed primarily for the active user; specifically, ambulant users with dorsiflexion weakness.
Thanks to its anatomical design and the use of a special composite material which ensures good energy recuperation, the orthosis is also suitable for higher walking speeds and greater loads. WalkOn® are lower leg orthoses which are both light and sturdy. In combination with the medial deployment of the rear spring, this leads to excellent, active postural control. Courtesy of the construction with its three active elements (medial spring, heel and forefoot of the sole) the user benefits from a consistent and natural gait even on uneven surfaces. The model WalkOn® 28U11 is used particularly for weaknesses to the dorsiflexion of the foot, for example, following a stroke. The orthosis can also be used when there is a light to moderate spasticity in the lower leg or foot.
The new model WalkOn® Trimable 28U23 will be available during 2011. It can be used in exactly the same ways as the WalkOn® 28U11 but the sole of this new model can be cut and modelled using scissors, thereby significantly simplifying the fitting process.
The launch of the WalkOn® Flex 28U22 is also planned for 2011. This model is particularly suitable for moderate dorsiflexion weakness or light spasticity. The WalkOn® Flex sole can also be trimmed with scissors.
