The System Hand, developed by Otto Bock, meets the cosmetic and functional requirements of the patient.

It consists of three parts – the hand chassis with hand mechanism, the shaped inner hand, and the cosmetic glove which, together, provide both functionality and a natural appearance. The gripping function is dependent on the construction of the hand mechanism:
The System Hands – voluntary opening and voluntary closing – belong to the cable-activated prostheses or "active prehensile arms". They are activated by a harness control system.
The system inner hand encloses the hand mechanism and provides the shape of the cosmetic hand. The cosmetic hand is selected according to the size of the inner hand and is available in 18 shades.
