The innovative and proven concept of the 1C30 Trias® was the basis for the development of the Triton family of products. The aim was to transfer the characteristics of 1C30 to a higher level of activity.
Like the Trias®, the Triton prosthetic feet also offer an interactive system of three spring elements, which largely control the function of the feet: carbon forefoot spring, two-part carbon heel spring and a base spring made of high-performance polymer material.
At heel strike the springs of the Triton prosthetic feet are strong enough to effectively dampen the impact of the load. The moderate shortening of the heel lever supports the users, allowing them greater control and safety when bending their knee. How the feet behave in this phase of walking can be adapted to suit the individual user with the supplied heel wedges.
The benefits of the Triton feet’s interlinked spring system are particularly evident during roll-over: The forefoot and the heel are connected by a base spring to form a complete system. The majority of energy stored during heel strike is gradually released in the course of the stance phase. This makes an easy roll-over possible for the patient.
When the user is standing, the Triton prosthetic feet's reaction to the body weight being shifted from one foot to the other is largely neutral. This special feature means that the user is relaxed and stable when standing.
The base spring has a specially formed and split forefoot section. Due to this unique feature the effective foot length reaches up to the big toe. This feature allows the user to move confidently into the swing phase and gives a highly variable step length – depending entirely on the situation and speed. At the same time, the split forefoot section gives the user the necessary control to deal with uneven ground and quick changes of direction common in sporting activities.
The Triton prosthetic feet are designed for users with transtibial amputation, knee disarticulation, transfemoral amputation and hip disarticulation who have moderate to high activity levels and want a dynamic and durable carbon spring foot. Recommended in accordance with the Otto Bock mobility system MOBIS® for users with mobility level 3 or 4 – unrestricted outdoor walkers and unrestricted outdoor walkers with particularly high demands. The maximum permissible user weight is 150 kg.
