• In everyday situations:
  Pain avoidance responses (such as those triggered by impacts) and limited mobility can make independent locomotion impossible for the amputee. By providing relief for the residual limb and the entire locomotor system while simultaneously increasing mobility, DeltaTwist® allows the amputee to focus on the surroundings (faster recognition of potential hazards, etc.).
• In small rooms:
  Adequate mobility with a minimum amount of pain is especially important in places such as the kitchen where hot items and food need to be handled (e.g. when food is taken from the stove / oven and placed on a work surface behind the person, the necessary change in direction has to be executed more or less on the spot within a limited amount of space; this translates into a lot of rotation and torsion around the body's longitudinal axis).

Prevention

Uncontrolled impacts (during the normal gait cycle and when unexpected obstacles are encountered) create strain on various parts of the locomotor system; limited mobility and pain trigger automatic avoidance movements and / or pain avoidance reactions.
