With the Hyperextension Orthosis in Frame Construction 28R15, the vertebral bodies of the lumbar and lower thoracic spine are relieved and stabilized, for example in case of compression fractures. The frame construction limits sideways body movements and rotation of the torso. The three-point system ensures secure lordosis.

A literature study we prepared for the conservative treatment of fractures of the thoracolumbar transition with hyperextension orthoses shows that the results of functional therapy of vertebral body fractures under consideration of the subjective complaints, mobility, and ability to work were described as very good to good in the literature in 80 to 90 percent of all cases.

Design and Adaptation

The hyperextension orthoses is lightweight, easy to clean,water repellent and is individually adaptable in height and circumference.

The orthosis is delivered as a component kit ready for fitting. It is available in four sizes. The front frame is made out of plastic coated aluminium. You can adjust the size and angles using the screw connections between the individual elements. The back pad is connected to the frame structure by the flexible waistband. The special eccentric closure makes it easy to put on and ensures a correct fit.
