Ottobock and RTM enter into a strategic partnership
Ottobock and RTM Ortopedia Personalizzata joined forces on 1 April 2014. Both companies are known for the quality of their products and services in the prosthetics segment. They have maintained a close business relationship for decades and are now entering into a strategic partnership. Ottobock is acquiring a 51 percent stake in RTM, which is located in Budrio close to the Ottobock branch in Italy. RTM with 33 employees focuses on high-tech fittings that restore the greatest possible mobility.
“We first started working with RTM almost 30 years ago. I am personally very pleased that our partnership is continuing and now becoming even closer,” says Professor Hans Georg Näder, President and CEO of the Ottobock Group. Moreno Marchesini, the manager of RTM, emphasises: “For all these years, the primary objective of RTM has been to provide patients with innovative prosthetic fittings of high quality in direct cooperation with doctors and therapists. The partnership with Ottobock as a leading medtech company gives us the opportunity to continue offering groundbreaking technology in the future.”
Ottobock and RTM are convinced that joining forces will allow them to make a major contribution in the field of medical technology in Italy, providing products and services with a professionalism that meets the wishes of patients and the expectations of doctors and therapists. For one thing, this requires the development of innovative solutions that contribute to improved quality of life. For another, proof has to be provided for the reimbursement systems that progress in the field of prosthetic medical devices also pays off economically.
