Chabloz Orthopedie under the Ottobock umbrella
Improving fitting quality through innovation and technology
On 21 November 2014 the family businesses Ottobock and Chabloz Orthopedie gave their longstanding collaboration a firm foundation for the future. From 1 January 2015 Ottobock will be taking over 51 per cent of the leading patient care company in the area from Grenoble to Southeast France. Company founder Pierre Chabloz and his family will remain as active under the Ottobock umbrella as they were before.
Ottobock, the world market leader in orthopaedics technology, has been represented in France by its own foreign subsidiary since 1978. Together with Pierre Chabloz, the further development of prosthetic fittings components such as the 1C40 has been successful. The latest example is the ProCarve system which allows those with leg amputations to be active in snowboarding and other sports again and proved itself in competitive sports at the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi.
"We are looking forward to being able to work even closer together to help people achieve mobility and independence. We want to further increase care standards in France and North Africa together," reported Mario Henkel, Managing Director of Ottobock France. Pierre Chabloz added, "For a long time we have had a shared enthusiasm for innovation and technologies for people. Our next goal on this path is to develop new solutions in socket and liner technology."
With this step Ottobock is expanding its network of over 100 Patient Care Centers further and integrating the eight Chabloz Orthopedie locations into its worldwide network.
