The app for Ottobock prostheses and orthoses
The Cockpit app helps you easily adjust Ottobock’s various electronic prostheses and orthoses to your individual needs in day-to-day life using your smartphone. Depending on the range of functions of the component you can, for example, select preconfigured MyModes for specific activities, read information such as the charge level, switch additional functions on or off and adjust settings.
Functions of the Cockpit app
Using the Cockpit app you can, for example:
- Switch easily between basic mode and individual MyModes
- Read the charge level of a component’s battery
- Display feedback from the component and fine-tune parameters
- Switch additional component functions on or off
The number and type of MyModes, their functions and configurable parameters depend on the component you’re using.

Under the downloads on this page, you will find a list of mobile devices from various manufacturers which are commonly used around the world and which we have successfully tested for compatibility with the Cockpit app and our components.
The hardware and software for a mobile device model may vary depending on the country and mobile network operator. Ottobock is therefore unable to guarantee that each model of a mobile device tested by us is also compatible with the Cockpit app and our components in all locations.
The following components are compatible with the Android version of the Cockpit app. You will find the version number of the component on the cover page of the instructions for use:
- C-Leg (versions 3C98-3* and 3C88-3*)
- Genium (versions 3B1-2; 3B1-2=ST; 3B1-2=9.2 and 3B1-2=ST-9.2; 3B1-3 and 3B1-3=ST)¹
- Genium X3 (versions 3B5-2, 3B5-2=ST, 3B5-3, 3B5-3=ST)¹
- Meridium (1B1; 1B1-2)
- C-Brace joint unit (17KO1)
¹In the case of the Genium and Genium X3 produced before mid-2015, the component may have to be updated by an Ottobock Service Center.
Only new versions of the components with special electronic elements and modified software are compatible with the requirements of Apple mobile devices. The new versions of the components are specially marked. See the instructions in the downloads on this page to find out which components are compatible.
Only components that are already compatible with the Android version of the Cockpit app can potentially be retrofitted to make them compatible with Apple mobile devices.
A potential retrofit depends on various factors such as the model, version, age, service package of the component and national regulations. The costs for the complex retrofit have to be paid by the user. Components retrofitted for Apple mobile devices are no longer compatible with the 4X350 remote control.
