No, you are not allowed to shower or bathe with the speedhand. We offer the Skeo up daily assist (14Y4) designed for bathing activities. There are no standard prosthetic components for swimming; adjustments are made individually by your prosthetist. However, it is possible to wash your hands if the prosthetic glove is intact and the sleeve is long enough to prevent water from entering the prosthesis from behind.
A speedhand fitting involves several visits with your CPO to create a custom, well-fitting inner socket, align the socket and components, learn how to control your muscle signals and individualize the control, make adjustments, and provide training on how to best integrate the prosthesis into your daily life. Regular service visits are also recommended throughout the life of the prosthesis.
No, the speedhand cannot operate a touchscreen in general. The inner and outer gloves of the speedhand are usually not recognized as "touch fingers" by most touchscreens.

These sensors detect residual muscle activity in the limb, allowing users to voluntarily open or close the hand. In combination with the connectgrip app, the control is customized to the user's muscle signals. This not only enables reliable and personalized opening and closing of the hand but also bending and extending of the elbow, as well as optional additional functions.
The speedhand features a "tripod" grip pattern, where the index and ring fingers move in opposition to the thumb. This allows for an opening of up to 100 mm for grasping objects.
