Näder seeks best new home port for Sycor

Otto Bock HealthCare focuses on core business of medical technology

In view of the planned corporate actions, Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH is clearly focusing on its core business: Mobility for people, Quality for life. Against this background Professor Hans Georg Näder, owner and President of Ottobock Holding, has announced that he is giving the fast and profitable growth of HealthCare another important boost through the divestment of the successful IT specialist Sycor.

“While we are already in the midst of sales negotiations for Otto Bock Kunststoff, we are only beginning this process for Sycor and hope to conclude it before the end of the year. It is crucial for us to find the right partner to successfully lead the dynamic IT start-up of our Ottobock family into the future,” Professor Hans Georg Näder explains.

With sales of around EUR 72 million and growth in excess of 9 per cent in 2016, Sycor once again proved that it has become a real player in the information and telecommunication technology sector since it was founded in 1998. “The number of employees worldwide has increased to 650 – a landmark in this industry, where competing for qualified skilled workers is a key growth driver,” says Professor Hans Georg Näder.

He thanks Sycor’s CEOs Dr Marko Weinrich and Rüdiger Krumes as well as all employees who contributed to this success: “Our paths will not separate after the divestment. Otto Bock HealthCare will remain a key account for Sycor in IT over the coming years. And as the owner of Sycor, I will be sure to find the best home port for the company.”
