Good prospects for career starters

Ottobock is among the best training companies in Germany

With the wish for flexible working hours and new opportunities for development for career starters, their expectations of training companies also increase. But do the companies meet these expectations? In a large study, the financial magazine Capital and the talent platform ausbildung.de took a closer look at 500 German companies in an attempt to answer this question. Ottobock, the medical technology company in Duderstadt, was found to be one of the "Best Training Companies in Germany".

The survey focused on criteria such as support, in-house learning, involvement and opportunities for development within the training companies. "The active participation by companies and the wide range of responses were very gratifying; we saw everything from family businesses to DAX-listed corporations," says study director Ana Fernandez-Mühl about the pilot project.

Ottobock, with four out of five possible stars, impressed trainees across the board. "We scored points especially for the criteria learning and involvement in commercial or technical occupations," Stefanie Senhen, who participated in the study as a training director, was happy to report. With the dual study programme in economics, Ottobock more than meets the demands of an increasing focus on academics.

The overall result of the survey is also promising: Almost half of the participants were rated good or very good. More than eight out of ten companies offer their trainees job prospects even after they complete training.

"The study is an ideal orientation for career starters and for us as a training company. The result shows us that we are on the right track with our training concept," Stefanie Senhen sums up.

For the start of the training year on 1 August 2018, Ottobock still has training positions open at its Duderstadt location for warehouse logistics specialist and process mechanic.
