Ottobock ambassador

Elena Kratter

Skiing was her passion for many years. A knee injury brought her to para athletics. She now competes successfully at world level in the 100 meters, 200 meters and long jump.

A knee injury brought her to para athletics

Shortly after birth, Elena's right leg had to be amputated due to a blood deficiency. This never stopped her from skiing down the slopes with her siblings. At the age of 17, she participated in World Cup races and found her great passion in skiing.

In 2019, she crashed during a race at the World Championships and injured her knee so badly that she had to resume from skiing.

She quickly caught her way to para athletics and since then has been almost unstoppable.

Quick-Start into Para Athletics

With a lot of ambition in training, she quickly increased her performance and won the silver medal in the long jump and 100 meter sprint at the 2021 European Para Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

In addition to sports, Elena is a certified orthopedic technician. Because of this, she has a lot of background information on the manufacturing of prostheses and is always motivated to find the optimal line up of her own sports prosthesis.
