Jumping feels like freedom
Fleur Schouten has always been running around the house with her daily prosthesis, when she was younger.
At the age of ten, her prosthetist asks her if she wants to try out Para athletics as a sport, took her to the running track and changed her regular prosthetic foot to a running prosthesis. She loved the feeling of her freedom running around and started to do Para athletics.
"If I am at the track, I am feeling very happy, I cannot wait to take a jump because when I am flying in the air, it will give me this kind of freedom."
"I want to be an example for people with an amputation, so they can see life is still good, even if you miss an arm or a leg."
