His power sports experience helps him to compete in shot put

Piotr Kąkol has always been close to sports, especially power sports. A traffic accident in 2004 resulted in the amputation of his left leg. After his two-year recovery, he restarted doing sports. In 2008 he was recognized by a Paralympic sports official, inviting him to the polish athletics team. Since then he competes in the F57 shot put event, where Para athletes throw from a seated position on top of a secured seat.

In 2018 and 2019, he won the bronze medal at the Polish Championships and the World Para Grand Prix.
