Ottobock&#039;s sets for drying plaster with compressed air help you save valuable time when drying plaster models. This technique involves a 5-m-long porous hose and a compressed air hose with a ball valve, quick couplings and five heat-resistant adapters. The hose is cut to the appropriate length to fit the plaster model and embedded in the plaster model with the compressed air adapter.
When compressed air flows into the hose via the ball valve, the porous structure of the hose distributes the compressed air evenly in the plaster. This lets excess water flow out of the plaster in a controlled manner without causing cracks in the plaster.
This process can significantly reduce the time required for drying a plaster model. With hydronetic lumeo, an impression can be taken of the residual limb and a transtibial check socket can be manufactured during a single visit – completely without plaster and with minimal workshop equipment.
Instead of plaster, resin-impregnated lumeo casting socks are used to take the impression. They are moulded under full load with hydrostatic pressure and cure under UV light at the touch of a button.
This type of impression maps the soft tissue situation, bony structures and scar tissue under load. The result is a glass fibre-reinforced check socket with a good fit. It can then be thermoplastically re-shaped, sanded and built up in a conventional manner.
The check socket connects seamlessly to a digital supply chain using TransferScan.
hydronetic lumeo can be combined with various liner systems. It can be used both stationary and mobile, making it ideal for flexible day-to-day treatment.

Ipso Cast is an innovative plaster modelling technique for TT users. It makes plaster casting and processing faster and more efficient. You can obtain very good results with this technique while saving a lot of time during plaster casting and subsequent processing.
The innovative technique makes it possible to take a plaster cast under load: the user gets into a biaxial woven stockinette and pushes the residual limb down. Thanks to its special structure, the woven stockinette – during plaster casting – simulates the pressure conditions that later occur in the prosthetic socket and are desired.
The technician also gains added modelling possibilities. For example, the pressure can be individually increased in specific locations directly during plaster casting. This establishes optimal conditions for a successful plaster model, without elaborate post-processing, and for a perfectly fitting prosthetic socket.
