Start Familie
We are all familiar with standard lightweight wheelchairs from our everyday lives. This type of wheelchair is available for use in hospitals, airports, retirement homes and zoos, for example. They are comparatively inexpensive and are therefore primarily intended for temporary use by a number of different users. In cases of limited mobility, they can help users to regain a certain degree of independence. This type of wheelchair is less suitable for long-term use or for self-propulsion. The Ottobock Start models fit precisely into this category and support users worldwide.

The Start products have been part of the Ottobock product portfolio for several years. High quality meets durability.
Standard lightweight wheelchairs are often used in emergencies or for short periods of time, for example in hospital or after an accident. For this reason, they need to be available quickly. All Start models have fast delivery times and are therefore ready to use at short notice.
A wide range of additional options and accessories are available. For example, a tray that can be used for eating, reading or simply for setting things down.
All Start models are primarily designed for temporary use. Once usage amounts to several hours per user per day, it is important to seek further advice. A temporary solution should still be adapted to suit the user’s everyday life, for example with height-adjustable push handles for effortless pushing. Even the most minor changes to the configuration can maximise value for users as well as relatives and carers.
