The knee joint is a central element of the human locomotor system. After an amputation, active patients in particular want to be sure that the prosthetic replacement offers them the highest possible dynamics. Suitable for medium and higher mobility grades, the joint still permits high resistance even at a high degree of flexion. That’s why we developed the 3R95, a small, dynamic lightweight knee joint in two variants.
Both lightweight knee joints feature easy adjustment possibilities. Thanks to their compact design, the joints are also ideal for cosmetic fittings for women and adolescents. The 3R95 with a flexion angle of 135° is approved for a body weight of up to 150 kilograms, while the 3R95&#61;1 with a knee flexion angle of up to 155° was designed especially for prosthesis wearers weighing up to 75 kilograms. The key element of the new 3R106 Pro is the servo-pneumatic control. Its powerful dual-chamber pneumatic unit with progressive damping properties has a flexion valve that the O&amp;P professional sets for the user’s normal walking speed. At faster walking speeds, the flexion resistance increases auto-adaptively, which prevents excessive flexion of the knee joint. As a result, pendulum movements in the swing phase are smoothly controlled, even at higher walking speeds. The integrated, automatic quick venting of the flexion chamber ensures that smooth extension movement is possible even at higher walking speeds – so a greater range of walking speeds is supported.

With the market launch of the Genium leg prosthesis, Ottobock opened up entirely new horizons for prosthesis wearers: a nearly natural gait pattern, climbing stairs step-over-step, walking backwards, relaxed standing – to name just a few examples. A sports knee joint has to withstand the high loads that develop and act on the prosthesis while running. The familiar, patented principle of rotation hydraulics is used in a modified form in the 3S80 Sport as well. The joint is also equipped with a manual lock. Compact and robust, the 3S80 Sport is optimised for any type of running.
The lower leg of the prosthesis swings through freely to an angle of about 60° in the flexion direction. Even at high stride rates, a smooth extension stop is ensured by extension damping applied along the entire extension movement, which increases significantly shortly before reaching the end position. Flexion and extension damping can be adjusted separately and individually.

The updated 3R106 prosthetic knee is designed to support natural movement in a wide range of everyday situations. Building on trusted performance, the updated version is lighter and has a lower build height for a more compact fit.
 
With an increased knee flexion angle of 172°, it makes everyday activities such as kneeling, sitting on the floor, reaching into low cupboards, or playing with children and grandchildren easier and more comfortable. Designed for moderately active users (mobility grade 2–3, up to 100 kg), it provides the stability and reliability needed for daily life.
 
The 3R106 is a mechanical polycentric knee with pneumatic swing phase control and a dual-chamber pneumatic unit, designed to support a wider range of walking speeds. Separate adjustment of flexion and extension damping allows for more precise tuning to individual needs, helping to create a smooth and controlled swing phase. The 3R78 knee joint is lightweight yet robust and offers high stance phase safety for users with moderate activity levels. The joint geometry effectively shortens the prosthesis when your leg swings through, giving you more ground clearance. A large flexion angle of 150° also provides greater freedom of movement. The knee joint also supports you when walking at various speeds and is approved for a body weight of up to 100 kilograms.

Thanks to easy initiation of the swing phase, the 3R60 knee joint allows you to walk at various speeds – whether you are going for a hike or strolling through a market. You benefit from a larger ground clearance during swing-through of the joint, reducing your risk of stumbling. The special joint design also gives you more stability in the stance phase and prevents unwanted flexion of the joint. The 3R60 also makes it possible for you to walk down gentle slopes.
