Nexgear Tango ankle joint
For patients with leg muscle paralysis, this dynamic ankle joint for leg orthoses enables smoother walking—on level surfaces, inclines, or stairs.
For patients with leg muscle paralysis, this dynamic ankle joint for leg orthoses enables smoother walking—on level surfaces, inclines, or stairs.
Four modules—Stop, Spring, Reaction, and Ultra—can be added or removed, allowing the joint to be individually adapted to the patient’s needs throughout the rehabilitation process. The Reaction and Ultra modules provide energy return at varying levels while maintaining maximum freedom of ankle movement. They dynamically control and support plantar flexion and lifting, normalize knee loading during the stance phase, and assist with toe-off and initiation of the swing phase.
Static and dynamic adjustments are performed separately. Dynamic adjustment is achieved through continuously variable pretension of the Reaction springs, and the joint maintains a 20° range of motion for both dorsiflexion and plantar flexion.
The joint is suitable for both children and adults, with the appropriate module selected according to body weight. It can be used for both unilateral and bilateral treatment.

Walk More Smoothly The Reaction and Ultra modules help patients walk more smoothly and with a more natural gait. The powerful Ultra module expands the Tango’s capabilities for unilateral fittings, while different spring options allow customisation to individual needs. Cushioning and a spring-mounted stop ensure quiet, controlled joint movement.
Modular design
The modular design of the ankle joint provides a variety of fitting options and can be adapted throughout the entire rehabilitation process as the patient’s needs evolve.
Lightweight titanium construction Using the titanium Tango joint helps reduce the overall weight of the orthosis.
Fit Kit and test braces for user testing in situ
The Tango Fit Kit includes all four function modules in each size, along with all springs and the necessary tools. During the fitting process, modules and springs can be tested on the user with the test brace to determine the optimal settings and alignment.
