lumeo casting sock

From cast taking to interim socket in a single step.

The lumeo casting socks were developed specifically for the hydronetic lumeo impression system for the fabrication of interim sockets. They are made of a resin-impregnated fiber fabric that cures within minutes using UV light. Unlike traditional methods such as plaster casting, the socket itself serves as the mold and becomes the final interim socket.

The lumeo casting socks are pulled over the patient’s residual transtibial limb and molded in the hydronetic lumeo under full load and hydrostatic pressure. This method of impression taking captures the soft tissues, bony structures, and scar tissue under realistic conditions. The result is a glass fibre-reinforced interim socket with a good fit.

Since no plaster positive is required, additional work steps, material usage, and waste are eliminated. At the same time, the process ensures a clean and efficient working environment during the fitting. In addition, the controlled curing time offers more flexibility for taking impressions.

The lumeo casting socks are available in various sizes; the appropriate size can be easily determined using test socks or the measured stump circumference.
