The Varos socket is a socket solution that benefits transfemoral amputees starting in the rehabilitation phase as well as later during treatment with the final prosthesis. One key advantage is the option to independently adapt the socket circumference to fluctuations in the volume of the residual limb and to everyday activities by simply turning the closure – exactly as needed. This offers numerous benefits in therapy and everyday life, from an enhanced feeling of safety to the potential for better movement control.
The Varos liner was developed to be compatible with the Varos socket. Contact between the Varos liner and fabric adhesive strips in the socket also results in a good adhesion mechanism for a secure hold in the socket – and the magnetic distal connector in the liner makes it even stronger. Plus, pressure distribution provided by the liner ensures good wearer comfort. The Varos socket can be fabricated in significantly less time than a conventional socket.

After an amputation, professional care of the residual limb is of crucial importance for the subsequent prosthetic fitting. As a replacement for elastic bandages, our residual limb compression socks assume an important function in the post-operative phase. They primarily serve to reduce swellings and the post-operative oedema. In addition to high wearer comfort, a compression sock is also easy to use. For example, an adhesive strip with silicone nubs on lower leg compression socks prevents the bothersome problem of sliding down. An elastic hip strap fulfils this function on thigh compression socks.
The compression socks are available for transfemoral and transtibial amputees in various sizes and two compression classes. Your orthopaedics specialist will be happy to advise you regarding the suitable version.
