Ottobock Scandinavia have a team of field based staff who are dedicated to managing the Ottobock product training needs of our Scandinavian customers. Known as ‘Academy Clinicians,’ they are skilled experts within the prosthetics and orthotics industry. Rigorous training of our staff and on our own products ensures our customers receive the very best, most advanced training on what can be very complex products.
What does training from Ottobock Scandinavia include?
The Ottobock Scandinavia Academy offers training across our full product range, including upper and lower limb prosthetics and orthotics. Our clinicians explain product features, materials, and provide guidance on clinical assessment techniques. Beyond product training, we offer ongoing support and mentoring to help clinicians confidently fit Ottobock devices independently.
How do I access the trainings?
Training can be provided on a one to one, or one to many basis at your clinic or hospital, possibly in conjunction with a patient fitting. Ottobock recognise that clinical time with patients is valuable, and in response to this, we offer a number of online training courses in an E-Learning format. This allows clinicians the freedom and flexibility to train in their own time and space.

Tommy Svensson
Prosthetics Academy Clinician
Tommy graduated from Hälsohögskolan in Jönköping 1989 as a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO). Joined Ottobock Scandinvaia 2005, Tommy has a vast clinical experience and supports within all areas of lower limb prosthetics.
Tommy is a Certified Trainer for;
• C-leg, Genium/X3, Genium X4 and Kenevo
• Empower and Meridium
• Harmony suspension and Helix 3D
Joel Burnell
Prosthetics Academy Clinician
Joel completed his Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO) degree in Melbourne, Australia 2005, moved to Stockholm and has worked in a number of clinics up until he joined Ottobock Scandinavia in 2023 as part of the lower limb prosthetics team. Joel also supports with upper limb products in Sweden.
Joel is a Certified Trainer for;
• C-leg, Genium/X3, Genium X4 and Kenevo
Helge Bjørnstad
Prosthetics Academy Clinician
Helge has worked as an orthopaedic technician for 12 years, before joining Ottobock Scandinavia in 2016. His main advantage is that he has more than 50 years’ experience as a prosthetic user (KD). Helge is also a former 8-time Paralympian both summer and winter.

Marko Vucic
Orthotics Academy Clinician
Graduated from Jönköping University with a BSc degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics in 2013. Before taking on responsibility for Neuromobility and joining Ottobock Scandinavia in 2017, he worked clinically, supporting users with neuromuscular conditions in regaining their freedom of movement.
Marko is a Certified Trainer for;

Bo Engkvist
Orthotics Academy Clinician
Bo has worked clinically as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) since he graduated in 1992. His dedication lies in supporting patients with neuromuscular challenges to improve their mobility and independence. In 2025, Bo joined Ottobock Scandinavia as a Product Specialist in Neuro.

Janne Isokangas
Prosthetic Academy Clinican
Janne graduated as Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) in Finland 1997 and has also studied Biomechanics in Strathclyde University. Joined Ottobock Scandinavia 2005 and supports with all topics for lower limb prosthetics.
Janne is a Certified Trainer for;
• C-Leg, Genium/X3, Genium X4 and Kenevo
Nicklas Grønvold
Orthotics Academy Clinician
Nicklas is a certified orthopeadic technician and has been working in various O&P centers in Norway since 2008. He is now specialised in orthotics and has been with Ottobock Scandinavia since 2019.

Karl Lindfors
Prosthetics Academy Clinician
Karl has been certified as a prothetist and orthotist 1998. He has a clinical background with upperlimbs since year 2000 and joined Ottobock Scandinavia in 2020, based in Finland. Karl works a Product specialist for Upper Limb Prosthetics.
Karl is a Certified Trainer for;
• Axon-Bus, Bebionic, Dynamic Arm, Myobock, Myosmart and Myo Plus
Markus Yllikännö
Exopulse Mollii Suit Academy Clinician
Markus graduated from Turku University of Applied Sciences with a degree in physiotherapy in 2015. He joined team Ottobock Scandinavia 2019 supporting with orthotics, but now primarily working with Exopulse.
Markus is a Certified Trainer for;
• Exopulse Mollii Suit, C-Brace and L300 GO
