Ankle gaiter

The ankle gaiter is compatible with the Evanto prosthetic foot with a normal width footshell. If your Evanto was delivered with the 2C8=*S slim footshell, you have to reorder a 2C8 footshell in the normal width. The ankle gaiter can also be combined with selected feet from the Taleo product family (Taleo, Taleo Low Profile, Taleo Side Flex, Taleo Adjust and Taleo Adapt) as long as they are worn with the 2C8 footshell in the normal width. If your Taleo prosthetic foot was delivered with the 2C15 footshell or the 2C8=*S slim footshell, you have to reorder a 2C8 footshell in the normal width.

The ankle gaiter prevents splashes of water, sand and dirt from penetrating into the inside of the footshell. So nothing stands in the way of a prolonged shower or a walk on the beach.

The ankle gaiter does not provide complete protection against water ingress when submerged. However, it prevents sand and dirt particles from getting into the prosthetic foot together with the water during submersion.
If you have submerged the prosthetic foot with the ankle gaiter applied, you need to subsequently clean and dry the prosthetic foot. Ask your O&P professional to show you how to clean and dry it safely.
Do not submerge the prosthetic foot under water if it is not waterproof.

As a user you cannot remove the ankle gaiter completely. You must consult your O&P professional, as he or she needs to disassemble the prosthesis in order to remove the ankle gaiter.
