WalkOn Reaction Junior

Incredibly dynamic.

The WalkOn Reaction junior is the new member of the WalkOn range, intended especially for children with mild neurological deficits of the lower limbs. It offers these children a higher level of overall support than conventional orthoses in this field. The risk of stumbling and falling is reduced and movement patterns are improved.

It offers these children a higher level of overall support than conventional orthoses in this field. The risk of stumbling and falling is reduced and movement patterns are improved.

The dynamic ankle-foot orthosis improves your child’s dorsiflexion and uses ground reaction forces to stabilise both the knee and the ankle joints. Applied to the front of the lower leg, the orthosis helps your child achieve a more stable, largely physiological gait.

Walk more naturally

The WalkOn Reaction junior enables a nearly physiological gait. The special orthosis design supports extension and flexion of the knee during walking. Your child’s gait pattern becomes smoother. This also applies to children with higher activity levels, who require greater support for knee extension.

Fewer compensating movements

Compensating movements often result in signs of wear. The WalkOn Reaction junior can reduce these with its high energy return. The energy stored during heel strike is released by the orthosis during the rollover movement of the foot. This helps your child walk more symmetrically. The special alignment of the orthosis provides a more natural posture during standing as we

Enhanced safety

Your child’s safety is increased as the WalkOn Reaction junior supports and lifts their foot during the swing phase while walking. The risk of catching the tip of the foot, for example on carpet edges or uneven ground, is reduced.

Appropriate for shoes

The orthosis can be worn in standard shoes, and a sturdy shoe is perfectly adequate. You only need to make sure that the shoe has a reinforced heel. To put on the orthosis, you should ideally start by positioning the WalkOn Reaction junior in the shoe. The child can then simply step in with their foot.

Lightweight and discreet

The WalkOn Reaction junior is lightweight, slim and fits discreetly under clothing. A shin pad makes it even more comfortable. It is made of a temperature-regulating material, which reduces the build-up of heat and perspiration.

User Experience

Leo with the WalkOn Reaction junior

Leo is particularly excited about the new WalkOn Reaction junior. It improves his dorsiflexion and gait and offers a higher level of support than conventional orthoses. The car lover has been wearing an orthosis since he was four due to hemiplegia and drop foot. “My hope for the future is that Leo will be able to further expand his mobility by continuing to make the WalkOn Reaction junior a part of his day-to-day life,” his mother Kristin says.
