Pheon - Modular Knee Joint

Redefining mobility for users with MOBIS 2

Users with low mobility in particular want to be sure that their prosthetic knee joint will provide perfect support in their everyday activities. As a multi-axis knee joint with mechanical swing phase control, the 3R62 Pheon offers you the support and stability you need when walking and standing. The Pheon is also particularly suitable as a therapy knee joint after an amputation. It is used for the first attempts at walking and standing in the rehabilitation phase with the interim prosthesis up to the subsequent final prosthesis. A spring damping element – known as ergonomically balanced stride – permits joint flexion under load up to a maximum of 10° in the stance phase.

User Experience

3R62 Pheon - Gérard

Functionality

Elastic shock absorber for energy absorption

The very special thing about the control units of Pheon is the following: The kinetic energy the amputee applies to the EBS unit in stance flexion (red line) is not fully returned in the subsequent stance extension movement (blue line).

That so called hysteretic characteristics allows for a harmonious stance extension movement, very comfortable for the amputee due to a soft terminal impact.

The spring element to control swing phase has a similar behavior and provides in combination with the self-readjusting friction element a very harmonious, pure mechanical swing control.
