One-way valve
The 4R140 outlet valve is a check valve. In combination with a PUR or TPE-coated sealing sleeve, it serves to create a vacuum in a transtibial socket. The outlet valve ejects excess air out of the socket during the stance phase and closes during the swing phase so air cannot re-enter. This prevents frictional and shearing forces. The 4R140 outlet valve is suitable exclusively for transtibial prostheses.
