Active use wheelchairs

Every wheelchair user has individual needs and challenges in their everyday lives. With more than 2.4 million configuration possibilities, the appeal of the Avantgarde lies in its incredible diversity and flexibility – combined with proven Ottobock quality. For everything from structured everyday routines to recreational activities or travel to remote countries – this wheelchair for active use adapts to the user, not the other way around. The product range consists of several models, all of them made in Germany.

The Invader rigid-frame wheelchair is characterised by its sporty frame shape combined with exceptional sturdiness and a low weight. The wheelchair for active use is custom-made, meaning it is completely unique and fits the user perfectly.

Get onto the court, eye the basket for a shot. Anything is possible with the Invader Basketball. In every position, in every game situation. The Invader Basketball is customised for every single player according to his or her position.

The Pointer club sport wheelchair is particularly well suited for recreational sport and offers a comprehensive range of settings and options to meet the requirements of any athlete. For example, the seat height, lower leg length and centre of gravity can all be individually adjusted. Furthermore, the Pointer complies with IWAS regulations. This sports wheelchair is therefore suitable for basketball, tennis and badminton.

The Zenit onn F and Zenit onn R are available in lightweight aviation specification aluminum or carbon fibre composite. The Zenit onn F models feature the Easy-Go folding system, which combines the flexibility of a folding wheelchair with the look and performance of a rigid frame. The Zenit onn F CLT version has welded-on components while keeping the weight the lowes possible.
The Zenit onn R rigid frame wheelchair is also available in aluminum or carbon composite. The R CLT version provides maximum stability with welded-on components for the lowest possible mass in the entire Zenit onn product family!<s> </s>
Thanks to this well-thought-out design, all Zenit onn models can be precisely customized to individual needs — for maximum stability, efficiency, and driving comfort.

We are all familiar with standard lightweight wheelchairs from our everyday lives. This type of wheelchair is available for use in hospitals, airports, retirement homes and zoos, for example. They are comparatively inexpensive and are therefore primarily intended for temporary use by a number of different users. In cases of limited mobility, they can help users to regain a certain degree of independence. This type of wheelchair is less suitable for long-term use or for self-propulsion. The Ottobock Start models fit precisely into this category and support users worldwide.

The requirements users place on their wheelchairs are as unique as the users themselves. Nonetheless, all users share one thing in common: they want to be as mobile and independent as possible in their everyday lives. They want the freedom and autonomy to pursue their own interests, as and when they choose. The Ventus makes all of this possible. As a fully configurable, rigid frame wheelchair for active use with a customised frame, it features comprehensive options that ensure it can be used for a wide range of activities – making it a reliable companion in everyday life.

The Start M6 Junior is a folding lightweight wheelchair for children who require a wheelchair on a temporary basis only. It is equipped with large handrims so that the child can easily move around on their own. However, it’s also easy to push thanks to the height-adjustable push handles.

The name Motus comes from the word "moveo" and describes everything about movement. In addition to the two familiar variants CS and CV, the new Motus family also includes so-called indication-related models. The Motus XXL with its reinforced components is suitable for users weighing up to 140 kg. The Motus HEMI variant, on the other hand, was specially designed for the care of patients with hemiplegia. The challenge here is that both the individual (residual) abilities and support needs must always be taken into account. e.g. mobility of a leg should be used, paralysed body parts should be supported.
