Summary Statement
We are looking for an experienced Compensation Analyst to join our team in Austin, TX (hybrid work schedule)!
Under the direction of the Total Rewards Manager, The Compensation Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing compensation strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry benchmarks. The Compensation Analyst will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. This role will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries as part of the Total Rewards Program. In addition, the Compensation Analyst will conduct job analysis and job documentation, assist in the design of pay structures, grades, benchmarking and other Total Rewards projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust processes for job evaluation, market pricing, and internal equity analysis.
- Develop and maintain a structured methodology for salary structure design and administration, ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and business stakeholders to understand organizational objectives and develop a comprehensive compensation strategy.
- Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Conduct compensation analyses and position benchmarking, design and assist in evaluating total compensation programs.
- Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
- Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
- Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
- Conduct training sessions for HR and management on compensation policies, processes, and best practices.
- Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, and human resource procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
- One to three years of experience as a compensation analyst required.
- PHR or SHRM-CP or SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- CCP Preferred
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with various salary data tools such as Salary.com a plus
- Strong ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and exercise judgement with sensitive and confidential issues
