Myo Plus TR

Completely new prosthesis control concept

Even after a forearm amputation or with a congenital malformation, a mental image of the hand usually remains mapped in the brain. Amputees can still imagine closing, opening or rotating their hand. This activates the remaining muscles in the residual limb.

Even after a forearm amputation or with a congenital malformation, a mental image of the hand usually remains mapped in the brain. Amputees can still imagine closing, opening or rotating their hand. This activates the remaining muscles in the residual limb.

These muscle signals are transformed into myoelectric signals using electrodes on the forearm and translated directly into a movement of the prosthetic hand. Myo Plus learns to interpret the user’s individual movement patterns, assigning each to a specific prosthesis movement. These patterns can be adapted with the Myo Plus app.

This intuitive control enables users to fully utilise the potential of their highly complex, multi-articulating prosthetic hands. Myo Plus pattern recognition is optimised for the bebionic hand and the MyoBock system.

More intuitive and natural control

Myo Plus makes it possible to utilise the prosthesis control functions in a unique and entirely natural manner. It therefore allows the user to intuitively utilise their remaining capabilities.

Fluid movements without switching

Compared to conventional myoelectric systems, no switching signals, such as CoCo or OpenOpen, are required to switch to a desired grip or function. This allows you to concentrate fully on your activities.

Add additional hand movements yourself

Myo Plus allows the user to continuously adapt their prosthesis control device to their individual needs by adding additional grip types to the bebionic hand.

Myo Plus app

The Myo Plus app lets you easily use and configure your hand prosthesis. It serves as a “window into the prosthesis” and visualizes muscle activities in the residual limb through the spiderplot.

Easily exchange terminal devices

Aside from the bebionic hand, the Myo Plus prosthesis control device is compatible with other analogue and MyoBock terminal devices such as the Electric Greifer. This allows users to choose a solution that is optimally adapted to their activities.

Control device learns from the user

Myo Plus is flexible and learns the individual commands directly from the user. It can be improved at any time by independently adding further recordings in everyday life.

User Experience

Myo Plus – Joanna’s story

Johanna lives in Stockholm, has worked as a journalist for a long time and has now recently completed her Master of Law. Due to cancer, she had to have her right hand amputated. Independence and being able to keep up with her children are quite important to Johanna. Myo Plus and her bebionic hand support her in this.

Functionality

Myo Plus pattern recognition

Movements carried out by myoelectric prostheses are generated by muscle activity in the residual limb. Unlike a conventional two-channel control device, Myo Plus uses the individual muscle activity (known as movement patterns) that occurs in the residual forearm during different hand movements. Myo Plus learns these movement patterns through a recording process via an app. A certain prosthetic hand grip can be assigned to each learned pattern. The control device thus first learns from the user.
