Empowering Movement Through Adaptive Sports

Full Circle Movement Debuts in San Antonio

April 2025 marked a powerful moment for the limb loss and limb difference community in Texas, as Ottobock North America and Texas Parasport Games teamed up to bring the first-ever Full Circle Movement event to San Antonio. The adaptive sports-focused clinic welcomed individuals of all ages and mobility levels for a day of movement, education, and community connection—right in the heart of Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM).

Held at Heroes Stadium on April 26, 2025, the event invited participants to engage in a wide range of mobility-building activities, connect with peers, and experience the transformative impact of adaptive sports firsthand.

What Is Full Circle Movement?

Full Circle Movement is an adaptive sports and mobility initiative created by Ottobock to help people living with limb loss and limb difference reclaim confidence and independence. Designed in partnership with prosthetists, physical therapists, and adaptive sports coaches, these events provide a supportive space to enhance balance, learn new movement strategies, and build long-term physical confidence.

From walking drills to running blade trials using Ottobock’s high-performance sports prostheses, attendees have the opportunity to test their limits and discover new possibilities through motion. Blade fittings were available during dedicated morning sessions, with trained experts on site to ensure safety and comfort.

The Power of Adaptive Sports

Adaptive sports are more than just physical activity—they’re a gateway to community, empowerment, and mental well-being. For individuals with limb loss or limb difference, getting involved in adaptive sports can help:

  • Boost physical and emotional resilience

  • Improve balance, mobility, and endurance

  • Reduce fear of falling or re-injury

  • Promote social connection and belonging

  • Reinforce independence and goal-setting

“Adaptive sports have the power to reshape what people think is possible,” said Lucas Crisanti, Clinical Specialist and Full Circle Movement Coach. “Events like Full Circle Movement remind us that mobility isn’t just a medical milestone—it’s a path toward a more active, fulfilling life.”

A Texas-Sized Collaboration

The San Antonio event highlighted the strength of local partnerships, bringing together Ottobock’s innovation and expertise with Texas Parasport Games’ deep commitment to accessible athletics. As an organization dedicated to inclusive sporting opportunities across the state, Texas Parasport Games provided competitive insight and support to ensure the day’s activities were both fun and empowering.

Together, the two organizations helped create a welcoming environment where movement met community—an essential combination in the world of adaptive sports.

With more events planned across the U.S., the program aims to continue expanding access, awareness, and confidence for individuals living with mobility challenges.
