Halle's Kenevo Story.

Confident Steps, Big Dreams.

At just 15 years old, Hallé Sheedy has a lot to look forward to. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2023, she underwent an above-knee amputation in January 2024. Just three months later, she was fitted with her first prosthesis, the Kenevo microprocessor knee and began taking her first steps toward a new kind of independence.

As her chemotherapy finished in May 2024 and her strength returned, Hallé began using her Kenevo more and more. Paired with a Varos socket, which helps manage stump volume fluctuations, the combination has given her both comfort and confidence. Even after a revision surgery in early 2025, she was quickly back on her feet, moving forward with her usual determination.

Hallé has spent the last few years completing her schooling at home to better balance hospital appointments and schoolwork, but she now has her sights set on college, where she plans to study hair and beauty. As a confidence booster, she recently completed a weekly Animal Care course at college, navigating a busy campus full of stairs and ramps with ease. “She’s never fallen using the Kenevo,” her mum Maddy, proudly shares.

Animals are a huge part of Hallé’s life. With three dogs at home and a newfound love of horse riding, she’s constantly on the move. She now rides a horse named Conker and has already progressed to cantering around the ring. She and her mum also compete in dog shows and are aiming to qualify for Crufts next year, where Hallé hopes to become the first junior handler with a prosthetic leg.

The combination of the Kenevo and the Varos socket have enabled Hallé a level of independence and freedom that most teenagers crave. The Kenevo features functions that make day-to-day life easier and richer, such as the intuitive assisted descent on ramps and an anti-stumble feature. The Varos socket allows Hallé to adjust her socket’s circumference throughout the day, making her less likely to experience discomfort in her residual limb, meaning she can wear her prosthesis for longer. Her focus isn’t on how she does things, but on what she wants to do and she dives headfirst into her many activities and hobbies. “There have been a few occasions where we’ve said, ‘Cor, your leg is quicker thinking than you are!’” her mum laughs. “You can see she could have fallen, but the leg stopped her.”

A sporty girl at heart, football was her passion before her amputation. She loved running fast and she’s rediscovering that joy with her new running blade, having recently joined an athletics club she is looking forward to trying new discipline’s and working on her speed.

Hallé’s bubbly spirit, resilience and infectious energy define her, she’s not looking back—just forward to everything she’s yet to do.
