Who is the Genium X4 best for?

Where can I try out the Genium X4?

The Genium X4 can only be fit by clinicians who have been certified by Ottobock to fit the knee. If you would like to try out this knee, you will need to schedule a trial fitting with one of these clinicians. The trial period will be scheduled for a specific amount of time, and will be monitored by Ottobock when needed.

How long does it take to learn how to use the Genium X4?

Depending on users' unique condition and circumstances, it can sometimes take several days or even weeks to fully adjust to using the Genium X4 in everyday situations. However, some users are able to take stairs step-over-step on their first day with the Genium X4.

What's included in the Genium X4 fitting process?

During the Genium X4 fitting process, your prosthetist will customize and assemble all the components selected for your prosthesis. That includes the Genium X4 knee, an appropriate prosthetic socket, and a prosthetic foot. Regular service inspections are included as well.

Can I use the Genium X4 in wet conditions, like showering or swimming?

Yes, you can! The Genium X4 has an IP68 rating, which means the electronic components are waterproof (see IFU for details). It's also corrosion-resistant, so it can be fully submerged in fresh, salt, or chlorinated water without losing functionality.

Up to five days depending on several factors, including your activity level and the environments you're walking in. When the battery level falls below 20%, a vibration and an acoustic signal will give a timely alert that it's time for a recharge. If the battery is completely drained, the Genium X4 gives an acoustic warning signal and automatically switches to safety mode. For further information please check the IFU.
