Items Requiring Coding Verification Reviews

Many items require coding verification review by the PDAC contractor. As indicated in Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and related Policy Articles containing such HCPCS codes, claims will be denied if the products requiring coding verification review are not listed on the PDAC Product Classification List.

View the current list of HCPCS codes that require coding verification review, the applicable LCD or Advisory Article for each code, and the code requirement effective date (i.e., claims with dates of service on/after).

Certification is required to fit the product. Certification can be acquired by passing a certification course at myLearning.

Product is water resistant or waterproof to varying degrees. See product details on product page for further information.

• IP54: Water Resistant: Electronics are protected from dust and splashes of water. Mechanical components are not corrosion resistant.

• IP68: Fresh Waterproof: Electronics are protected from dirt, sand, dust-tight, and occasional submersion in fresh water (up to 3m for 1hr). Mechanical components are not corrosion resistant.

• IP67: Fresh Waterproof: Electronics are protected from dirt, sand, dust-tight, and occasional submersion in fresh water (up to 1m for 30min). Mechanical components are not corrosion resistant.

• IP68: Fully Waterproof (Fresh, Salt, Chlorinated Water, soap, bodily fluids) + corrosion resistant: Electronics are protected from dust, sand, dirt, and full submersion in all water types (up to 3m for 1hr). Protected against jets of water. Mechanical components are fully corrosion resistant against all water types, soap, and bodily fluids.
