Custom Liners: Skeo Unique & Uneo Unique

Ottobock’s custom liners are designed for patients with unique clinical needs, whether due to limb shape, sensitive tissue, or scarring. Each liner is tailored to the user’s anatomy, using either silicone or urethane materials, and can be customized further with fabric options, additives, or pressure-relieving modifications.

Skeo Unique (Silicone)

Fabricated from Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) silicone, Skeo Unique liners are designed for stability and durability, ideal for limbs with soft tissue or scarring.

Uneo Unique (Urethane)

Highly flowable urethane provides pressure distribution and comfort for sensitive or irregularly shaped limbs.

Is a custom liner right for your patient?

Before ordering, confirm the patient is an appropriate candidate for a custom liner. Custom liners may be indicated for patients with:

  • Atypical residual limb shapes

  • Mature or atrophic limbs

  • Very large or very small residual limbs

  • Skin conditions or significant scarring

  • Minimal soft tissue

Available Enhancements

Wall thickness

  1. Uniform has the same thickness across the liner

    1. Custom Silicon is 4.5 mm thick

    2. Custom Urethane is 6 mm thick

  2. Tapered is thinner behind the knee and proximally for better ROM.

    1. Custom Silicone is 4.5 mm distal wall thickness tapering to 2.5 mm proximally

    2. Custom Urethane is 6 mm distal wall thickness tapering to 3 mm proximally

Distal Thickness

  1. Urethane: Locking 18 mm, Cushion 13 mm

  2. Silicone: Locking 21 mm, Cushion 13 mm

Fabric Options for covered or partially covered liners

  • Covered or Partially Covered:

    • If partial cover height is not noted on order form, liner will be covered like 6Y512

    • Full cover height is not recommended for suction/vacuum suspension

  • Uncovered: Allows maximum flow, easier to don with lubricant and tends to bunch less in the posterior aspect.

  • LycraSlick/stretchy, thinnest fabric, low-friction to slide into socket (0.6 mm fabric thickness)

  • WearforceTougher/thicker, durable and abrasion-resistant, can de difficult to don and may require good hand strength (1.6mm fabric thickness)

  • Uneo 3D Textile – Integrated sheath, similar to the OTS Uneo 6Y512 (1.0 mm fabric thickness)

  • KISS TF TextileStrong Velcro adhesion, similar to the OTS Skeo 6Y88 (0.75 mm fabric thickness)

  • SkinGuard – Antibacterial protection

  • Fresh Scent – Helps control odor

Custom Modifications

  • Targeted buildups, reductions, and reliefs for sensitive or bony areas

  2. Upload the scan to iCC

Manual: Submit your order

  1. Capture patient shape: cast limb under vacuum. For casting instructions, please reference this video and page 2 of the Unique Custom Liner Order Form below and review the Custom Liner Product Essentials course on myLearning under section Measurements and Casting.

  2. Submit a physical order form Unique custom order form (see below) along with the cast to Salt Lake City fabrication services: 3820 West Great Lakes Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84120

Liner Duplications

For those who have been using lower limb prostheses for a while, duplicating your existing liner ensures consistent fit and function. We offer two options for liner duplications:

  • Repour (No Changes Needed)

    • Mold is stored for 3 years from the date of your last order.

    • If it’s been over 3 years, you’ll need to send a new scan or cast.

  • Repour with Alterations

    • Contact: +1 (800)-328-4058 (Press 1, then 1 again) or email: usslcliners@ottobock.com to place an order with requested changes.

    • If it’s been over 3 years since your last order, a new scan or cast will be required.

What you’ll need to place an order:

  1. Purchase Order (PO) number

  2. Serial number of the liner you want duplicated

    • Can be found etched into the gel of inverted, distal aspect of liner
